about
This song was written after an incident August had with Amanda, a female living in the neighborhood, accusing him of stalking her. He had no intentions of coming across as a stalker, even though he would go through her trash, follow her home from work, and send her a text every morning at 8:24am telling her she looked beautiful.
Amanda moved away soon after this song was written. She never understood August, but then again who does? August doesn't even understand himself, it's too mainstream to understand yourself. He never saw her again, but will remember her sandy blonde hair until he dies.
lyrics
Today I followed you home from work
Saw you walk to your front door
Today I thought of you
That's no surprise
Cause your always on my mind (x2)
I'm not a stalker (x3)
Just a very aggressive follower
Today I was in the neighborhood
What a coincidence for the fifth time this week and it's only
Tuesday and I see you over there
Don't act like I'm not here
Don't act like you don't care cause
I'm not a stalker (x3)
Just a very aggressive follower (x4)
Bridge
Today I saw you
Standing outside goin through my trash
Today I ran to my car
Pretended you weren't there
To show you I don't care
I hope you're not a stalker
You're not a stalker (x2)
Just a very friendly neighbor
